[1140] EFFECT OF AQUEOUS DIAMINES ON CARBONATION OF CEMENTITIOUS MATERIALS
Keywords:Carbon capture、 calcite、 wet carbonation、 diamine、 2-(2-aminoethylamino) ethanol (AEEA)、 Ethylenediamine (EDA)、 N-methyldiethanolamine (MDEA)
Wet carbonation of Ca(OH)₂ and hydrated cement paste granules (HCPG) was performed using aqueous amine systems of EDA, AEEA (diamines), and MDEA (tertiary monoamine). Carbonation performance, assessed by solid CaCO₃ formation, showed lower carbonate formation for EDA and AEEA in Ca(OH)₂ compared to the control. However, EDA and AEEA shows higher carbonate formation than MDEA in the HCPG system, with comparable efficiency per 1 mol of nitrogen despite the diamine structure. additionally, EDA and AEEA significantly affected the HCPG structure during carbonation.
