[2A04] Development of MgO-supported iron catalysts for ammonia synthesis under low temperature and pressure conditions

To realize a green ammonia process, it is necessary to develop inexpensive catalysts that show high activity for ammonia synthesis under mild conditions. In this study, we developed Fe/K/MgO catalyst with 2.0 times higher ammonia synthesis activity per catalyst weight than commercial fused iron catalyst for HB process by impregnating K-doped MgO with Fe nanoparticles. Here, we report on the ammonia synthesis activity of Fe/K/MgO as well as the kinetics, catalytic properties, and results of additional investigations.
