As part of R&D towards the decommissioning reactor of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, we have developed highly reactive monolithic catalysts for hydrogen-oxygen recombination. It was clarified, from real scale REKO4 reactor (5.5 m3) experimental in JÜLICH, that natural convection velocity can be greatly improved by optimizing the catalytic geometries.
