[2E06] Development of evaluation technique of DNA double strand breaks induced by b-rays from tritium

DNA molecules of T4 phage was immersed in tritiated water (5 MBq/cc) and then the rate of double strand breaks was evaluated by measuring the length of DNA molecules using a fluorescence microscope. Significant irradiation effects were observed after immersion for 1 week corresponding to absorption dose of 3 Gy.
