[P3-169] Validation of Ouvrier’s Modified MMSE as Screening Cognitive Function in Children Age 8-11Years Old in Primary School Bandung Indonesia

Cognitive are process of thinking ability, mental development, learning, understanding, problem solving and reasoning, that give a main contributor for educational achievement in the future. Therefore, a reliable tool is needed to detect cognitive’s function disorder as soon as possible.Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) in children modified by Ouvrier has cut off point 27 from 35.
The aim of this study is to validate Ouvrier’s Modified MMSE in children with age 8-11 years old in Bandung, especially in three elementary schools in Bandung.
This was cross sectional study among students with age 8-11 years old in the Primary School Panyileukan 1, Sejahtera, and Karang Taruna Bandung, to validate Ouvrier’s Modified MMSE. This study was carried out from December 2014 until February 2015. The found of hard neurological sign as exclusion criteria The subjects was through the examinations of Ouvrier’s Modified MMSE and IQ test with WISC methods.
The study examined 100 students as a sample, which is 55% boys and 45% girls. In ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristic) curve we get the stronger score of AUC (Area of Under Curve) 96%, with cut off point MMSE 26/35, sensitivity 100%, specificity 93%, possitive predictive valvue 68%, negative predictive value 100%, possibility ratio 14.5, accuration 94%, and Kappa’s coefficient 0.78.
The conclussion of this study, Ouvrier’s Modified MMSE has a good validity, with cut off point score 26/35
