Welcome to ISBC2024 in Nagoya!

  On behalf of the organizing committee of the 3rd International Symposium on Biofunctional Chemistry (ISBC2024), we cordially invite you to attend ISBC2024, which will be held during April 24 - 26, 2024 at Toyoda Auditorium, Nagoya University, Nagoya, Aichi, Japan.

  Biofunctional chemistry is a multidisciplinary research area involving large number of scientists from chemical biology, protein science, nucleic acid chemistry, bioinorganic chemistry, material science, supramolecular chemistry, etc. Division of Biofunctional Chemistry, The Chemical Society of Japan has been contributing extensively to development of this bio-relevant chemical research area in Japan. It is thus our great pleasure to organize ISBC2024, and to be able to welcome many excellent researchers from the related research fields. We anticipate fruitful discussions on the six different sessions including 30 invited speakers and many poster presenters. 

   Now let us briefly introduce the city of Nagoya. Nagoya is located at the middle of Japan, and is one of the biggest cities in Japan with a population of 2.24 million. It is now very convenient to visit Nagoya from outside of Japan because international airport “Centrair” opened in 2005. Nagoya plays an important role in Japan for both industry and history. As an industrial city, many manufacturing bases are located near Nagoya, such as automobiles (e.g., Toyota Motor Corporation) and aviation, as well as traditional ceramics. As a historical city, Nagoya is a birthplace of Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu, very important and great Samurais in Japanese history, especially in the age of provincial wars. So you can find many historic scenes in Nagoya.

   In April, the climate in Nagoya is comfortable. We do expect sunny weather during the symposium and all of you can enjoy Nagoya!
