Oral Care as the Mainstream of Medicine

Dear Members and Supporters,

I would like to express my gratitude for having been given the opportunity to serve as the congress president.

Oral care originally started as a part of nursing. With the efforts and research of the members of the Japanese Society of Oral Care, it has been increasingly known that oral care is deeply associated with the treatment outcomes in diseases, such as cancers, lifestyle-related diseases and infectious diseases. Oral care could greatly affect the human health and well-being, getting recognized as a treatment method that positions in the mainstream of medicine.

In response to this current trend, we have newly launched an international academic society, the International Society of Oral Care (ISOC). We are hoping that ISOC would spread the knowledge and technique of oral care developed in our country to the world, contributing to this field internationally. This year, the 1st Annual Meeting of the International Society of Oral Care will be held concurrently.

For this joint congress, we have planned our program to include the  abundant sessions that deal with videos of procedures and data from actual medical practice. That would help us to share, discuss and enhance the techniques of oral care experienced in our respective expertise.

As some participants may find it difficult to join us at the venue due to the COVID-19 epidemic, we have arranged this congress to be a hybrid presentation of on-site and on-demand. This style would enable you to watch the presentations online as many times. We are hoping that all the participants would make the most of this hybrid style, finding the present congress meaningful.
