In this country, the formation of crude oil-water emulsions is a very serious problem in oil stockpiling because it contributes to decrease in stockpiles rate and equipment damage. In this study, we focused on the temperature history and the adsorption of inorganic solids on the surface of crude oil which have significant relationship with emulsion formation in stockpile tanks. We experimented with the formation of emulsions under different temperature conditions and evaluated the impact of these factors on stability of emulsions. Moreover, we worked on modeling the time variation of the emulsion layer from the height of the emulsion layer immediately after emulsion formation and after centrifugation.
