キチンはカニ・エビ・昆虫の外殻成分であり、年間1000億トン生成されるバイオマス資源であるが、その利活用技術はほとんどない。カーボンニュートラル社会を実現するためには、地下資源から地上資源への産業基盤の移行が必要であることから、キチンのような廃棄物系バイオマスの有効利用法の新開拓は極めて重要である。本件研究では、マンガン触媒によるキチンからの水素製造反応について報告する。
