[1E09] Development of Ni#Al2O3/SBA-15 coated catalysts for steam reforming of bio-oil
Keywords:Bio oil, Steam reforming, Catalyst preparation method
In recent years, attention has been focused on the conversion process of biomass to bio-oil as a feedstock. In this research, steam reforming of bio-oil is conducted to produce bio-oil-derived hydrogen. However, since bio-oil contains C-O and C=O bonds derived from carboxylic acids, catalysts are essential for bond cleavage, but catalyst degradation is a major issue in steam reforming. In a previous study, Ni@Al2O3 core-shell catalysts were used to suppress Ni sintering, while improving hydrogen yield is required. In this study, we investigated the effect of Ni#Al2O3/SBA-15, in which Ni nanoparticles are impregnated and supported on SBA-15 coated with Al2O3, which has a high specific surface area, on the reforming process.
