[2A09] In-situ analysis of alloy effects in low-temperature methane dry reforming in an electric field
Keywords:Methane, Reforming, Hydrogen/Syngas
Methane dry reforming (DRM) innovatively converts two prominent greenhouse gases, CO2 and CH4, into synthesis gas – a versatile industrial feedstock. In light of major thermodynamic and kinetic challenges observed in conventional DRM, we developed a novel high-performance catalytic system by inducing a weak direct current through a Ni-Fe bimetallic catalyst, which in turn displays enhanced catalytic activity at low temperatures and suppressed carbon deposition. Making use of the positive synergy effect between electric field application and alloys, this unconventional yet promising approach offers immense potential for realizing future DRM industrialization.
