[2D05] Reductive amination of acetal-protected 2,5-diformylfuran to synthesize 2,5-bis(aminomethyl)furan using Co2P Nanorods
Keywords:Biomass conversion, Protection strategy, Reductive amination, Co2P nanorod catalyst
A two-step process in the reductive amination of biomass-derived mono-acetalized 2,5-diformylfuran (DFF) was designed to selectively produce 2,5-bis(aminomethyl)furan (BAMF), where the highly reactive formyl groups of DFF was protected with a stable six-membered ring acetal. Consecutive amination of the free formyl group and the six-membered ring acetal in DFF to amine groups with Co2P nanorod catalysts gave BAMF in a high yield (> 90%).
