[2E18] Highly selective synthesis of light aromatics from CO2 by chromium-doped ZrO2 aerogels in tandem with HZSM-5@SiO2 catalyst
Keywords:Tandem catalyst, CO2 hydrogenation, Light aromatics
Although direct conversion of CO2 to aromatics via a methanol-mediated pathway has made great progress recently, how to selectively synthesize light aromatics (benzene, toluene and xylenes) remains a great challenge for the perspective of industrial demand. In this work, a highly active tandem catalyst composed of chromium-doped ZrO2 aerogel and HZSM-5@SiO2 zeolite was employed for the hydrogenation of CO2 to light aromatics. The ZrO2-Cr/HZSM-5@SiO2 catalyst achieved 13.9% CO2 conversion, 76.8% aromatics selectivity and 51.2% light aromatics selectivity.
