N2O is one of the nitrogen oxides produced in the combustion of fossil fuels and chemical reaction processes, and has a high global warming potential. Iron-based perovskite-type oxides were investigated to promote the decomposition of N2O into harmless N2. Partial substitution of iron with other metals such as tin significantly increased the catalytic activity.
