We aim to recycle waste plastic to petrochemical feedstock through chemical recycling, one of the recycling methods for plastics. To improve fluidity and remove admixtures, waste plastic was melted/dissolved in hydrocarbon solvent and catalytically decomposed. Hydrocarbon solvent obtained in the petroleum refining process was used as solvent, and polypropylene (PP) was used as a representative of polyolefin. Three types of zeolites, Beta, USY, and ZSM-5, were used as catalysts. and differences in PP conversion and products were discussed.
