Langasite-type single crystals have been attracting attention as materials for high-temperature piezoelectric sensors. In this study, we have studied piezoelectric properties of langasite-type Ba3TaGa3Si2O14 (BTGS) single crystal. By the resonance-antiresonance method, the piezoelectric d11 constant was determined to be 5.80 pC/N. We also attempted to reveal a relationship between the piezoelectric property and the crystal structure. It was found that an increase in the lattice parameter, a, leads to an increase of the d11 constant. In addition, there were differential rates of the increase in between order-type crystals, in which each cation site is occupied by single element, and disorder-type ones, in which one cation site is occupied by two or more kinds of elements.
