[11p-W935-8] Excitation Wavelength and Cross-term Selective Observation of Transient Absorption in Multicolor Laser Excitation

Keywords:cross-term signal, multicolor and multistep photoreaction, transient absorption

In order to understand the photoreaction, knowledge on a whole picture of photoreaction process is important. Photoreaction process caused by white light such as sun light often shows multicolor and multistep process. Thus it is difficult to observe a whole picture of photoreaction process by the simple monochromatic pump-probe method. In this study, multicolor laser lights modulated by passing through a sweeping type interferometer were adopted as excitation lights, and spectrum of absorbance change of methyl yellow in methanol induced by the modulated photoexcitation was obtained by Fourier transform. By using this system, we succeeded to detect the absorbance change as a function of excitation wavelength, and directly to observe a multicolor cross-term signal. Characterization of the cross-term signal will be explained in the presentation.
