[1P03] Direct observation of the nearly commensurate charge density wave in 1T-TaS₂ by non-contact AFM

We report the results of non-contact atomic force microscopy (NC-AFM) measurement on 1T-TaS₂one of the transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), which exhibits the charge density wave (CDW) order at room temperature. Obvious CDW triangle lattice structures are observed on the surface of 1T-TaS₂, implying the potential of NC-AFM as an imaging tool for CDW in TMD materials.
