[3Fp08] Leak Testing to Support SDGs Initiatives
Lithium-ion batteries, hydrogen fuel cells, and new refrigerant technologies are essential for advancing sustainable energy and environmental protection to achieve SDGs goals, and leak testing plays important role to ensure the quality and safety. Innovative leak testing solutions are being developed to address the challenges of electrolyte leaks for lithium ion battery in general, and for pouch type battery in particular. Hydrogen fuel cells, as a promising renewable energy, usually requires combination of helium and hydrogen leak detectors to assess fuel cell components, ensuring their safety and efficient functioning. For HFC, it was originally were developed to replace ozone-depleting substances. However, subsequent findings reveal their potent greenhouse effects. Governments worldwide are phasing out HFCs in favor of alternatives like HFOs and carbon dioxide and it is crucial to prevent leaky products entering the market.
