Tue. Mar 28, 2023 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM [Room M1] The Alumni Hall "Frate": Hall (1F)

Organizer: Yukiko Kaneko, Asami Mori

Patients with dysfunction of various organs such as liver, kidney, heart, pancreas, and blood vessels resulting from diabetes and obesity are rapidly increasing due to the westernization of the diet in Japan. These diseases need long-term treatment, thereby reducing the quality of life of patients. Therefore, the elucidation of pathogenesis and evaluation of prevention and treatment of these diseases are pressing issues. The causes of lifestyle-related diseases are various and the pathological conditions are associated with complex interaction of multiple diseases and tissues, which therefore require multifaceted approach based on understanding functional relationship between various organs. In this symposium, five young researchers who will lead the next generation introduce their latest research results about pathophysiology and treatment of lifestyle-related diseases in the liver, kidney, heart, pancreas, and blood vessels. We would like to take this opportunity to discuss the development of drugs for prevention and treatment of these diseases.
