[028] Estimating Socio-Economic Benefits of the First Nation-Operating Park in South Korea, Yongsan Park
Keywords:CVM, Nation-Operating Park, Yongsan Park
Unlike national parks and national urban parks, which are designated and operated by the nation, Yongsan Park is a nation-operating park designated by the state in consideration of its ethnic and historical characteristics, similar to New York's 9.11 Memorial. Therefore, unlike general urban parks, the estimation of the benefits should also be conducted for wide areas. In this study, the socioeconomic benefits of Yongsan Park are estimated using CVM, and the WTP is estimated with DBDC by conducting a face-to-face interview survey. In addition, regions are divided into Yongsan-gu, Seoul, the Seoul metropolitan area, and the national unit to understand the impact on the distance from the park. Pilot test was conducted to test whether this pre-introduction was sufficiently helpful for respondents' understanding and to check the range and distribution of respondents' WTP to set an initial amount for investigating WTP.
Through this study, it is expected that the socio-economic benefits of Yongsan Park, which are mentioned at the abstract level, can be specifically evaluated, and used for the feasibility of the installation of another national park in the future.
