This paper investigates the spatial distribution patterns of PM2.5 concentration nearby new green infrastructure (GI) covering Bundang-Suseo highway. Two-year data for this study were collected using sniffer 4D in the field to analyze the effect of the GI comparing before and after the construction of the park covering the highway. The Kruskall-Wallis analysis was performed to analyze the differences in spatial distribution of PM2.5 in four apartment complexes nearby new established GI. The results showed that there was a significant higher concentration in PM2.5 with West wind in the Bundang apartment complexes before the construction of the park project. However, there was no differences in PM2.5 concentration with West wind between apartment complexes after the construction of GI covering the highway. Using drones, we measured PM2.5 concentration according to the height of GI composition and found that an elevated park plays a role as an obstacle that hinders PM dispersion of the site. The primary foci of this research were to understand PM2.5 distributions according to microscopic spatial structure of GI. Therefore, we simulated the change in wind speed before and after the construction of GI using Envi-met. The simulation confirmed that the wind speed is noticeably reduced where the park wall was created, resulting in a high concentration of PM. This paper highlights the importance of air quality management strategy in the field of urban design by grasping the effect of microscopic GI design on PM2.5 distribution patterns.
