Submission Guideline
Abstract/ Paper Submission
Abstracts will be accepted from early March 2023 to May 18, 2023. Please submit your abstract from the page below. Paper submission will be accepted from August 1 to August 29, 2023.
(Your abstract submission can be registered, modified, deleted, etc. until the deadline.)

・Tentative Meeting schedule (in Japanese)
1.Content of the paper
Research related to earthquake engineering, earthquake disaster prevention and mitigation.
2.Limitation of the number of submission
One presenter can submit only one paper. An invited speaker in organized sessions, however, may submit another paper for general sessions. Please note that the submission fee for an invited presentation is the same as that for a general presentation. For OS15, Emergency Report on the 2023 Turkey Earthquake, you may submit another paper (OS, general session). The following combinations show whether two submissions are allowed or not.
OK OS (Invited presentation or OS15) + General Session
OK OS (Invited presentation or OS15) + OS (another general session)
OK OS (Invited presentation or OS15) + OS (another invited presentation)
NG OS (public presentation) + general session
NG OS (Invited presentation or OS15) + OS (Invited or general presentation) + General Session (No more than three papers per person)
There is no limitation with regard to contribution as co-authors. A presenter, however, must be a member of at least one of the sponsoring societies. The sponsoring societies are listed at the end of this page.

3.Abstract submission in English
The title of the presentation paper, abstract (approximately 100 words in English), author information, and preferred session (1st choice and 2nd choice) are required.
4.Session for papers
Select one of the following session types, general session or organized session, and session number from the list below. However, the 16JEES scientific committee may assign different session type or session number in the final program. The organized sessions will be announced later.

5.Preparation and submission of the paper
Papers should be edited using the specified template file (Japanese, English) and printed in PDF format. Papers should have no less than four pages but no more than ten pages. The file size of papers should be smaller than 5MB. Please refer to “Instructions to the Authors” for detail. Papers should be submitted via specified web site.
6.Presentation of the paper
Presentation of the paper will be made in either oral session or poster session. Upon submission of papers, contributors can specify either of the two. However, the 16JEES scientific committee may assign the other in the final program.
7.16JEES special issue of the Journal of the Japan Association for Earthquake Engineering after the symposium
Papers presented at this symposium can be submitted as peer-reviewed papers in the Journal of the Japan Association for Earthquake Engineering (16JEES special issue). Details will be announced later on this web page.
