[1D08] One step cost-effective synthesis of CoP@N-doped carbon catalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction.
Keywords:Hydrogen evolution reaction, CoP based catalyst, Cost-effective
We developed an economical method to synthesize CoP-anchored nitrogen-doped carbon catalyst via one-step pyrolysis using inexpensive starting materials (cobalt ion salt, phytic acid and glycine). The phytic acid was used as the phosphorus source, avoiding the generation of PH3 gases, which is contributing to the large scale production. By adjusting the Co/P ratio of the catalyst, the size control of nanoparticles has been achieved. The nanoscale CoP particles with adequate exposure to active sites are uniformly anchored on the surface of the conductive nitrogen-doped carbon substrate, ensuring rapid transfer of electrons and species.
