To all those planning to attend the 71st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Food Science and Technology
As you all know, Typhoon No. 10 is currently located southeast of Amami City, and there is a very high possibility that it will change course and cross Kyushu and Honshu. As a result, major disruptions to transportation are expected, and as the chairman of the conference, we have decided to prioritize the safety of all participants and, after discussion, have come to the decision that, although it is heartbreaking, we have no choice but to cancel the 71st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Food Science and Technology. However, although the in-person event has been canceled, the conference will be considered to have been held, and the publication of the program and abstracts will be considered to have been the lectures and presentations that took place.
We should have made this decision at an earlier stage, but we hope you will understand that it was a very difficult decision for the organizing committee, given the ever-changing typhoon path forecast.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude and apologies to all members and related parties who have made efforts and supported the holding of this conference.
