[S48] Research on Symbiosis between Environmental Particles and Humans "up-to-date 2024"

Sat. Mar 30, 2024 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM [Room 311] Conference Center 311+312 (3F)

Organizer: Tatsuya Saitoh (Grad. Sch. Pharm. Sci., Osaka Univ.), Yasuo Tsutsumi (Grad. Sch. Pharm. Sci., Osaka Univ.)

In modern society, humans live surrounded by various fine particles. It is well known that micro/nano plastics, PM2.5, yellow sand, and other fine particles exist in the environment, and that industrial products, foods, cosmetics, and other products used in daily life contain fine particles. However, not all of the effects of these fine particles on the human body have been clarified, and it is an urgent task to understand the safety and toxicity of fine particles and to take necessary countermeasures. In this symposium, speakers will introduce their research efforts on the composition and dynamics of fine particles in the environment, the dynamics of fine particles in the body, biosensing mechanisms of fine particles, reproductive toxicity, neurotoxicity, and immunotoxicity of fine particles, methods to mitigate fine particle toxicity, and prediction of fine particle safety. Toward a new era in which humans will live with fine particles, we hope that this symposium will provide an opportunity to gain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the relationship between fine particles and human health.
