[EPm-01] ATLASTM a Flexible Technology Platform for Manufacturing of External Additives for Toners
Performance requirements for external additives evolve in parallel with the general trends of toner particles becoming smaller and softer. The ATLASTM technology platform for commercial scale manufacturing of silica-polymer composites was developed by Cabot Corp. to deliver high performing spacer additives and serve needs of various customers.
The exceptional flexibility of the ATLASTM platform allows for manufacturing of particles with precisely adjusted sizes, narrow particle size distributions, various surface treatments, and tunable particle surface roughness. Examples of materials with different electrostatic charging properties and materials prepared using metal oxides other than colloidal silica will also be described.
