デザイン行為における法則性の解明の中核を成すデザイン理論，方法論とそれらの応用を対象として幅広く議論を行う．具体的には，デザイン理論の枠組みの一つである多空間デザインモデル，デザイン行為のモデル化や分析・発想・評価といったデザイン思考に関わるテーマを取り上げる．主なキーワードとしては，デザイン科学，デザイン思考，創発デザイン，最適デザインなどが挙げられる．
