[S20] Young Challengers in Synthetic Organic Chemistry: Creating the Future -Synthetic Organic Chemistry Challenging Across Disciplines-

Fri. Mar 29, 2024 1:15 PM - 3:15 PM [Room 503] Conference Center 503 (5F)

Organizer: Yohei Shimizu (Fac. Sci., Hokkaido Univ.), Hiromasa Yokoe (Sch. Pharm., Hoshi Univ. / Inst. Med. Chem., Hoshi Univ.), Makoto Yoritate (Grad. Sch. Pharm. Sci., Kyushu Univ.)

This symposium, "Young Challengers in Synthetic Organic Chemistry", has been held since the 121st Annual Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan. It aims to encourage the field of synthetic organic chemistry through lectures by cutting-edge young researchers and active discussions with the audience, thereby revitalizing pharmaceutical sciences in Japan.
Synthetic organic chemistry enables the creation of useful biologically active compounds and novel organic functional materials through understanding and controlling the properties and reactivity of molecules. Thus, it has played an important role in drug discovery in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. In recent years, approaches to drug discovery have been rapidly diversified, and there is a need to develop "transdisciplinary" chemistry by merging peripheral fields in addition to synthetic organic chemistry, and to develop a new trend.
This year, we are pleased to welcome five cutting-edge young researchers in various research fields. By sharing their latest outstanding research results and research philosophies, we hope to broaden the perspectives of the participants and encourage cross-disciplinary fusion research, thereby driving the creation of the "future" of synthetic organic chemistry.

オーガナイザー挨拶:清水 洋平(北大院理) (1:15 PM - 1:20 PM)
