[JS05] What a pharmacist should be in pressure ulcer care using their Specialty

In the FY2020 Revision of Medical Fee added a pharmacological management plan to the medical treatment plan for bedsore control, and the importance of the pharmacist's role in bedsore treatment was clarified. I In addition, the Japanese Society of Pressure Ulcer, which is comprised of physicians, nurses, and other professionals, established the "Board Certified pharmacists in Pressure Ulcers and wounds" in FY2022, and the expertise of pharmacists is now expected. In this way, the situation of pharmacists in pressure ulcer treatment has changed, and the significance of pharmacists' ability to intervene and exercise their professional skills from their unique perspective has come to be recognized. This symposium, titled "What pharmacists should be in the treatment of pressure ulcer utilizing their specialties," was planned to examine what pharmacists should be in pressure ulcer care.
This symposium will be co-hosted with the Japanese Society of Pharmacodermatology and will cover a wide range of perspectives, including "Role of Pharmacists in Pressure Ulcer Care," "University Initiatives in Pressure Ulcer Education," "Pharmacists of Hospital and Insurance Pharmacy in Pressure Ulcer Care" and "Outlook for the future of the pharmacist in the pressure ulcer care," from five symposium presenters, and will consider pharmacists in the future of pressure ulcer care.
