[S43] Life-oriented Chemistry in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Control of Life Phenomenon with Molecular Optomanipulation)

Sat. Mar 30, 2024 1:15 PM - 3:15 PM [Room 502] Conference Center 502 (5F)

Organizer: Naoya Ieda (Grad. Sch. Pharm., Hokkaido Univ.), Taniyuki Furuyama (Nanomaterials Res. Inst. Kanazawa Univ.)

Due to recent development of optical instruments, it has become possible to control the time and space to be irradiated with a high degree of precision. Therefore, molecules that show desired bioactivity by light are expected to be used not only as life science tools, such as optogenetics, but also for new drug therapies with fewer side effects, as exemplified by photodynamic therapy and photoimmunotherapy. This year's "Life-oriented Chemistry in Pharmaceutical Sciences" will bring together as symposiasts young researchers who are trying to develop "molecular optomanipulation", the manipulation of specific molecular functions by light, for the control and treatment of various physiological activities, and we would like to provide an opportunity to introduce their cutting-edge technologies and to discuss their prospects. Specifically, the symposium will introduce technologies for manipulating biological phenomena using small molecules such as caged compounds (Ieda) and photoswitching compounds (Matsuo), manipulating apoptosis using rhodopsin (Kojima), in vivo gene modification using PA-Cre (Morikawa), and light manipulation of intracellular temperature using non-radiation inactivation (Arai). (Arai), and Furuyama and Ieda will facilitate the discussion as organizers.

趣旨説明:家田 直弥(北大院薬) (1:15 PM - 1:20 PM)

まとめ:古山 渓行(金沢大ナノマテリアル研) (3:10 PM - 3:15 PM)
