Sun. Mar 31, 2024 1:15 PM - 3:15 PM [Room 302] Conference Center 302 (3F)

Organizer: Shogo Tokuyama (Dept. Clini. Pharm. Sch. Pharma. Sci. Kobe Gakuin Uni.)

Pharmacists are integral members in the treatment of cancer patients and play a role in improving the safety and effectiveness of treatment in both pharmacotherapy and palliative medicine. In addition, the importance of pharmacists' participation in "cancer pharmacotherapy and palliative care" is already widely recognized by many healthcare professionals, patients and their families. In fact, an increasing number of pharmacists are actively engaged in activities to enhance their expertise, such as making efforts to access the latest information, engaging in self-development, participating in academic conferences, presenting research papers and participating in projects inside and outside hospitals and pharmacies. However, it is still not clear whether pharmacists are making an effective and sustainable contribution to cancer pharmacotherapy and palliative care. In other words, there are not a few pharmacists who do not know what they should do specifically in "cancer pharmacotherapy and palliative medicine. Therefore, this symposium aims to share the latest information on how pharmacists can make an effective and sustainable contribution to cancer pharmacotherapy and palliative medicine by bringing together physicians, pharmacists and researchers who are practicing and working on the front lines of hospitals, pharmacies and universities, and to discuss the future outlook by asking participants to make suggestions. The aim is to have a great discussion on the prospects for the future.
