　The 71^st Divisional Meeting of Division of Colloid and Surface Chemistry will be held online from 14^th to 16^th September 2020. This meeting had been planned to be held at Tohoku University in Sendai. However, the COVID-19 infection has spread very rapidly all over the world, and still imperils our health and life with causing many inconveniences in social activities. Considering such social circumstances as well as responsibility of our society, the conference committees decided to move the 71^st meeting online.
This annual meeting has a long-standing history and has always served as a wonderful place to present cutting-edge researches, exchange opinions, establish scientific networks, encourage young scientists and students, and so on, for further development of the colloid and interface chemistry. The regular sessions cover molecular assembles in solutions, organized films, solid surfaces, fine particles and colloidal dispersions, industrial application and products. In addition, four symposiums will take place with focusing on exciting topics. Although all sessions and symposiums accept presentations in English, an international session is also ready for easy contribution of English speakers. The organizers welcome all of you to join us and hope you enjoy the new style ‘online’ meeting.
