3rd Circular Letter

Dear friends and colleagues,
It is my great honor and pleasure to send all of you the third and the final circular letter on behalf of our SIHDA Osaka 2024 Team.
The 77th session of the Société internationale Fernand De Visscher pour l’Histoire des Droits de l’Antiquité shall take place mainly at the Osaka University Nakanoshima Center (hereafter Center) and Osaka Central City Hall (hereafter Hall) on September 23–28, 2024 with the general theme of “IUS/LEX”. Please note that the early bird program is applied only till July 29th and that the final deadline for the registration is September 2nd

<RECEPTION DESK>
The reception desk will be ready at the Hall at 14:00(JST) on the Sep. 23rd. Or, if you are arriving late, visit the continued reception desk at the Center, which will be available from Sep. 24th until 27th noon.

<ABSTRACTS>
Now the abstract submission is closed. The total number of abstracts submitted is 157 and the presenters come from 32 countries and jurisdictions in five continents and all around the world.

<PoC FUNDED BY THE JAPANESE TOURISM AGENCY>
The team proudly announces that SIHDA Osaka 2024 was designated to be a project of PoC (Proof of Concept) funded by the Japanese Tourism Agency. Hence, we kindly request the participants to give your consent to the following:
1. The secretariat of the Agency will partially be present at the social programs.
2. The secretariat might take photos, videos, and interview some of the participants during the program.
3. Participants are requested to answer the questionnaire survey conducted by the secretariat at the
end of the conference.
4. Photos, videos, interviews, etc. obtained during the interviews may be used by the Japan Tourism
Agency and by the Japan National Tourism Organization for purposes of public information
and/or promotion.
5. If you do not wish to be visually recorded nor interviewed, please tell the organizers so that we
could arrange an exemption.

With this support, we are now able to offer you social events with better quality, including the
additional OKONOMIYAKI (Osaka's local favorite) dinner on the Sep. 24th. The creation of the Facebook group is also a part of this project.

<EXCURSIONS>
We are offering three courses as to excursion and you can choose one from them. The detail of the
excursion program is shown on the official site now. The choice will be possible online from July 26th.
Our secretary sent you an e-mail separately as to the excursion. Please visit our official site and complete the process. Then enjoy the excursion.

<ADDITIONAL TIPS>
For the sake of the environment, most of the information during the conference will be distributed digitally. Therefore, we kindly request you to bring your PCs or tablets. Eduroam service will be available at Center from Sep, 24th to 27th. If you are distributing handouts at your presentation, please bring 30 copies to the Center.

Chers collègues et amis,

J’ai le grand honneur et le plaisir de vous envoyer, au nom de toute l’équipe de la SIHDA d’Osaka 2024, la troisième et dernière circulaire d’invitation à notre congrès.

La 77ème session de la Société Internationale Fernand De Visscher pour l’Histoire des Droits de l’Antiquité se tiendra essentiellement au Osaka University Nakanoshima Center (ci-après « Center ») et au Osaka Central City Hall (ci-après « Hall ») du 23 au 28 septembre 2024, avec comme thème central « IUS/LEX ». Veuillez noter que le tarif « early bird » ne sera d’application que jusqu’au 29 juillet et que les inscriptions se clôtureront le 2 septembre.

Veuillez vous rendre sur le site internet de notre congrès (https://confit.atlas.jp/guide/event/sihda2024/top?lang=en) pour les informations les plus récentes et les mises à jour. En vue de faciliter votre participation, nous avons également créé un groupe Facebook « SIHDA Osaka 2024 ». N’hésitez pas à y adhérer et à y partager votre expérience avant, pendant et après le congrès.

<GUICHET D’ACCUEIL DES PARTICIPANTS>
Le guichet d’accueil des participants sera ouvert dans le Hall à 14 :00 (JST) le 23 septembre. Ou, si vous arrivez plus tard, un guichet permanent sera ouvert du Center, du 24 au 27 septembre à midi.

<RÉSUMÉS>
Le délai pour l’envoi des résumés est écoulé et nous en avons reçu 157. Les orateurs sont originaires de 32 pays et territoires de 5 continents de toutes les régions de la terre.

<PoC FINANCÉE PAR L’AGENCE JAPONAISE DU TOURISME>
L’équipe organisatrice est fière d’annoncer que la SIHDA d’Osaka 2024 a été désignée projet de PcC (Proof of Concept), financée par l’agence japonaise du tourisme. En conséquence, nous demandons aimablement aux participants de consentir à ce qui suit :
6. Le secrétariat de l’agence sera partiellement présente aux événements du programme social.
7. Le secrétariat pourrait prendre des photos, vidéos et interviewer certains des participants pendant le programme.
8. Les participants sont priés de répondre au questionnaire de l’enquête menée par le secrétariat à la fin du congrès.
9. Les photos, vidéos, interviews, etc. obtenues pendant les interviews pourront être utilisées par l’agence japonaise du tourisme, ainsi que l’organisation nationale du tourisme japonais dans un but d’information publique et/ou d’information.
10. Si vous ne désirez pas être enregistré ou interviewé, merci de prévenir les organisateurs, afin qu’ils arrangent une exemption pour vous.

Avec ce soutien, nous sommes maintenant en mesure de vous offrir des événements sociaux de meilleure qualité, incluant en outre le dîner OKONOMIYAKI (le met préféré d’Osaka) le 24 septembre. La création du groupe Facebook fait également partie de ce projet.

<CONSEILS ADDITIONNELS>
Pour des raisons écologiques, la plupart des informations liées au congrès seront diffusées par voie digitale. A cette fin, il vous est demandé d’emmener votre ordinateur ou votre tablette. Eduroam sera disponible au Center du 24 au 27 septembre. Si vous distribuez des handouts à l’occasion de votre conférence, merci d’apporter 30 exemplaires au Center.
