[PE1-031] The effects of oxygen and Te4+ on the leaching of tellurium

The leaching behavior of Te from tellurium powder in hydrochloric acid solution was investigated to establish the leaching process of Te. Four different leaching condition were compared; without the addition of oxygen (or air) and Te4+, with the introduction of oxygen (or air), with the addition of Te4+, with the addition of Te4+ and the introduction of oxygen (or air), the leaching efficiency of Te was the highest when air and Te4+ were added. In the leaching test of Te powder, which is used right after grinding, The leaching efficiency of Te increased with increasing TeCl4 concentration, agitation speed, temperature, hydrochloric acid concentration. More than 99 % of Te leaching efficiency was observed in the hydrochloric acid leaching at 240 min with air introduction and adding 4000ppm of TeCl4 under the leaching condition; 90 °C, 600 rpm, 2 % pulp density.
