[PE1-056] Analysis of the generation amount and the metal stock of obsolete computers in China

Obsolete computer is one of the typical secondary resources. In order to provide basic data to build a reasonable recycling system of waste, it is important to forecast the generation amount of obsolete computers and the deposit of valuable metals in it. In this study, the average possession and sales of computers, the generation amount of obsolete computers and the deposit of valuable metals in obsolete computers are predicted using logistic model, population balance model and material balance principle, respectively. The results indicate that the generation amount of obsolete computers in China is about 368 million units in 2030. The stock quantities of gold, silver and palladium contain in obsolete computers will reach to 157.74 , 478.12 and 46.72 t, respectively, in 2030. And the stock quantities of copper contains in it will reach to 109.1 thousand tons, in 2030.
