We investigated antagonistic and synergistic effect to extract Mn and Ni from Co by addition of alkylmonocarboxylic acid in mixture of extractnats from Li-ion batteries. The effect of alkyl monocarboxylic acid concentration was the experimental variable in the mixture of extractants. pH isotherm, distribution ratio, separation factor, McCabe-Thiele diagram and counter current extraction tests are conducted. As a results, by addiiton of alkylmonocarboxylic acid, the distribution ratio of Co was decreased while increasing of alkyl monocarboxylic acid increased extraction efficiency of Ni over Co in mixture extractants.
